The band
originally formed in 2002 when long-time friends Phil Griego and Peter
Filice came together with several other musicians. The band had their
first public appearance at a San Jose Exchange Club fundraiser for underprivileged
kids — an event they have repeated every year since then. Craig
Martin on drums joined the band in 2006, Megan Gluhan on vocals and
keyboards arrived in 2007, and last but not least Dave Gundacker rounded
out the band as lead guitarist in 2008. Guest musicians occasionally
join us, including talented percussionist Miguel Serrano, harmonica
wizard Mark “Fenny” Fenichel, and bassist George Alfs.
The band
continues to constantly add new material, carrying on the style of classic
rock n' roll and R&B with our own unique interpretation.
In November
2009, the band was named the Best Cover Band in the KFOX Last Band Standing
competition. Rock on!

Craig
Martin, drums & percussion
Craig began
his professional career at the age of 16 playing night clubs at night
and going to High School by day. During the formative years he had the
opportunity to gig with such artists as Robyn Trower, Lydia Pense, Snail,
Y&T, Traffic, Stoneground, Helix, Icon, Long John Baldry, The Tubes
and many other artists. During that period (80’s) he recorded
an album with MIRAGE, toured Canada, and the United States.
In the 90’s
Craig played with Rukus, a very busy cover band, and sat in for other
bands needing assistance. He was also a session drummer for Soundtec
Studios playing all styles of music.
In the
2000’s he has been a freelance player with many varied artists
playing blues, rock, latin, drumming for plays, vocal ensembles, church
groups and teaching.

Dave
Gundacker, lead guitar and vocals
Dave grew up in Anchorage
and at 16 began playing guitar after playing drums in school since
he was 10. At 19, he and his brother joined a band called Hydra. Hydra
quickly released a three-song demo that was entered in a homegrown
album contest that won. Two years later at 21, Dave’s band Hydra
got a chance to open for Jefferson Starship in a new stadium that
was sold out and held 10,000 people. Dave wrote all the music for
Hydra. Hydra also opened for Eddie Money and Blue Oyster Cult.
A few years
later in Alaska, Dave met a new lead singer, moved down to San Jose
and started a band called Nvs. Dave also entered a guitar competition,
in which he placed 3rd out of 90 guitar players, for which Dave received
a full endorsement from Jackson Guitars and Dean Markley guitar strings.
Nvs became a local hit in San Jose and opened for a number of big bands
like Mr. Big, Y&T, Lita Ford, Don Dokken, and others.
Dave likes
to joke that he wrote every song that Off the Record performs... and
who knows, it could even be true!

Megan Gluhan, keyboard & vocals
Megan Gluhan started playing the piano at age 5.
And five short years later, when St. Patrick's Church in Watsonville
was desperate for a pianist, Megan was booked for her very first gig!
From there Megan started playing for the Moreland Notre Dame School
masses, and then weekend liturgies thanks to the encouragement of
her music teacher, Leslie Henderson.
More encouragement came from Fr. Matt Pennington,
who got Megan to first start singing about 5 years ago at San Agustin
Church in Scotts Valley. Fr. Matt convinced Megan to do a duet with
him on Holy Thursday in front of the Bishop! When Megan discovered
she could sing, it inspired her to start writing music for the Catholic
Church. Since then Megan has written over 30 songs, many written with
the help of her silent writing partner Jan Smith.
Megan is currently the Music Teacher and Music Director
for Holy Spirit School & Church in Almaden Valley. It's a dream
position because she gets to use her gifts and talents and love of
music to serve God!

Peter Filice, rhythm guitars & vocals
Peter (a/k/a ―Pedro Capo‖) has been playing and performing for over 35 years in bands and liturgical music groups in the Bay Area. He has eclectic tastes in music and enjoys listening to everything from classical to grunge. He is constantly working on increasing his guitar collection, currently standing at four acoustic and electric guitars. He has also been known to be a fierce competitor in karaoke, singing and drinking many Asian business associates under the table and winning an "American Idol" style karaoke competition on a cruise ship in 2006. Peter's day job is in sales at the #1 Software Company -- and no, I don't mean Microsoft (think large yachts and the Oakland Arena...ding ding ding)
